Activities with Governments and their responses

The INFFER project is working closely with several governments to assist them to improve the design or implementation of environmental policy.

Australian Government

•  Numerous meetings with and presentations to policy officials

•  Member of Scientific Advisory Panel of Caring for our Country (Dave Pannell)

•  INFFER listed as a suggested planning tool on Caring for our Country web site

•  INFFER discussed positively by NRM departments in submission to Senate Inquity into NRM

•  Discussion paper: INFFER and "Caring for our Country", the Australian Government program here

Victoria

•  Numerous meetings with and presentations to policy officials

•  Strong support from Department of Sustainability and Environment and Department of Primary Industries

•  INFFER influence on Biodiversity White Paper

•  Training of DSE staff

•  Participation of DSE and DPI staff in various INFFER assessments

Western Australia

•  Numerous meetings with and presentations to policy officials

•  Support for INFFER to be the implementation tool for the State NRM Strategy

•  Training of staff from several agencies

•  Participation of DEC and DAFWA staff in various INFFER assessments

Other states

•  Numerous meetings with and presentations to policy officials

•  Participation of NSW agency staff in various INFFER assessments and in training workshops

•  Interest from South Australian government officers and support for presentations to two regional NRM Boards
